I sit outside and watch the stars fall, remembering,
And music runs through my mind.
Now
soft,
Like the touch of her lips,
Now swift,
Like the rush of feeling that swept through
my soul
When we were in love.
But it wasn't enough.
She could never be mine...I knew that.
I could never be hers.
I knew that, too,
Because I belong to the world.
But still, the time we had together
was magic.
The magic that only two people deeply in love
Can ever share.
The magic of a hidden moment,
A silent touch,
A soft caress, the touch of her hand
on mine,
The scent of the perfume in her hair
That destroyed my senses
And made me think...maybe...maybe...
But
it was not to be.
Too soon the magic fled,
Reality returned, consuming our dreams
And we watched, helpless,
as they drifted to the floor
And the secret moments we shared turned into ashes.
And
she was gone. Gone.
Now I sit alone, watching the stars fall, remembering...
And her
music runs through my mind.
Mon Paramour

Music by Mel Webb

Dad liked poetry. He would sometimes sit and write lyrics to songs that he composed. Mon Paramour was written by his friend, Beth Anderson, a writer friend he met over the internet. She was an avid follower of dad’s music. Beth was inspired by one of dad’s songs titled, Mon Paramour. The song may be played below, it is a midi file and the quality of your soundcard will make a difference.
