This is a story about everybody’s out West sweetheart. She has a proper name, but for this story we will just call her by the townfolk’s favorite name for her....Baby.

Bluejean Baby

Baby is a widow, brought that way by the sudden death of her husband Bill, who just happened to be in the wrong place...at the wrong time. Namely, the “Soppin' Tavern” down in town.

When the gunfight broke out between an ornery cowpoke and a gambler, ol' Bill was just standin’ there sippin' on a rye, mindin his own business. At a table over in the corner, a gambler had just realized he was cheated out of nice hand, and then there was gunfire. A stray bullet struck ol' Bill, and felled him to the floor, dead.

Poor Baby was heartbroken to be made a widow at such a young age, 23. But her inheritance of the 2500-acre ranch helped her heal up fast.

Now mind you, Baby was used to a lot of lovin' and attention, 'cause when she put on those bluejeans, they had every evidence of being sprayed on her shapely body. And when she strolled down Main Street, every cowpokes' eyes were trained on her as she sashayed down the boardwalk.

Baby sure could wiggle in those tight fittin' bluejeans. I’m tellin ya, when she set astride her Paint horse with her big white 10-gallon hat, her golden hair streaming out from under it, and that tight fittin' checkered blouse, her white boots and silver spurs, uh huh ...she was a tantilizin' picture that caused many a cowboy to stutter!

Baby was a friend to all of the town women too, 'cause Baby could tell 'em how to please their men folk, an' that made them stay home and not stray.

Baby was a member of the small Church “Be Kind Committee” too, which pleased Bishop Wattley very much.

After 3 years of widowhood baby loved to go to the Soppin' Tavern and do a little singin' and dancin' in her lonely evening times. She would grab an ol' cowpoke and drag him to the dance floor, and entertain the folks with her “Bluejean Favorite Dance”.

It was after one of those wild dancin' evenings that she and a Cowboy that she had been eyeing for sometime now, mounted their horses and decided to take a moonlight ride. After all it had been quite spell since ol' Bill left this world.  While riding, seems all Cowboy could think of was “Ridin With Bluejean Baby.”

After stopping on a small rise overlooking a passing stream, Baby felt an urge to be kissed by this Cowboy, after all, it was a full moon and warm.  Baby beckoned for him to sit on the rise next to her. She felt all of her passions come to the surface once again. This would be the night. They made passionate love and talked of all their tomorrows, and Cowboy was lost among the stars as he was “Lovin' Bluejean Baby.

The next morning as “Bluejean Baby’s Day Starts”, she was full of energy and was a dancin' while dustin' and cleanin' her house. She was very excited. It felt good to be loved again. She was in a state of glory for the next 3 months.

Later she went to see the town Doc because she had a funny feeling inside of her. The Doc didn’t give her any good news. Baby was gonna lose her child, from complications. She was heart broken to lose her love child.

She had to tell Cowboy. This was “Bluejean Baby’s Heartache” Cowboy broke down and tears filled his eyes, he held Baby close to him, and they wept together.

The church was too small to hold all of the town’s folks for Baby’s services, so Bishop Wattley held service for Baby just on the edge of town, under Baby’s favorite big Ol Oak tree. The folks were saddened as they listened too, Goodbye Bluejean Baby.”

Baby couldn’t face the days and nights anymore after 3 lonely months, and she saddled Ol Paint one evening and rode off into the hills alone.

Cowboy was devastated that he couldn’t find Baby anywhere in his search for her. One day on a small rise overlooking the passing stream, where they made love, he found Baby, laying motionless and not breathing. He scooped her into his arms and sobbed mercilessly as he held her tight to him, crying out “My Bluejean Baby’s Gone.”
